No chimney - no problem
If you live in a modern home with no chimney, don’t worry! Most of our gas fires use the balanced flue system. This enables them to be mounted on to an outside wall as well as installed in a conventional fireplace.
And because the fires are room sealed with a glass front, they use air from outside the building for combustion. This means that there is no loss of air – and no loss of comfort – in your living room.
Something for everyone
If a conventional chimney-based fire is you preference, we have those too! They can be placed into a fire surround in the traditional way. Alternatively they can be mounted on to the chimneybreast as a ‘hole-in-the-wall’ fire.
For those of you who prefer something completely different and easy to install, we have the Diablo. This is a hanging fire with an impressive three-sided glass display. It creates a beautiful glow all around your living room.

Unique patented features
But it’s not just their looks that make DRU Fires so different. They include practical and sensible features that will make your life so much easier.
Firstly there is a remote control (right). No ordinary device, but one that includes a room temperature display. So you can control the fire and the temperature of your living room from the comfort of your armchair.
And because the control and the burner are battery operated, the fires need no mains electrical connection.
Secondly, they all feature the unique patented DRU Vario Burner System®. Unlike ordinary fires, this accurately represents the appearance of a real log fire. It creates an impressive flame picture over the whole width of the hearth, underpinned by a beautiful glow.
Thirdly, DRU Fires include the Sandwich Door System® (left). This allows you to gain access to the interior of the fire. So you can clean the glass and re-arrange the logs to improve the fire’s visual appeal.

Altherma, the new home heating, sanitary hot water and cooling solution with high energy efficiency.

A heat pump is a refrigerant based system (like your refrigerator at home but in reverse). The system can absorb low grade heat from the air (air source), water (water source) or ground (ground source), and raise its temperature efficiently to be suitable for space heating and/or hot water.

A heat pump absorbs free energy (heat) from a low-temperature source (air, water or ground) and upgrades it to a higher temperature, via the refrigerant cycle. Heat pump efficiencies range from 3:1 to 5:1 (300-500%), i.e for each 1kW of electricity consumed between 3kW : 5kW of heat energy can be absorbed and transferred.

By contrast, conventional fossil fuel boilers produce less heat output, about 0.85kW for every kW consumed, therefore heat pumps are more cost effective, eco-friendly and use renewable energy for the greater good of our environment.

To choose a central heating boiler is not simple.

There are different solutions, but the most important one is that the boiler gives you maximum comfort. The most known is the combi boiler, which as well heats the house as provides hot water. Also a boiler in combination with a storage water heater is a possibility. The most advised central heating and combi boilers are high efficiency boilers. A high efficiency boiler increases energy efficiency by reducing the amount of heated air that escapes during both the on and off cycles and by extracting more of the heat contained in the combustion by-products before they are vented.

 

The right choice

high-efficiency boiler is not automatically te right choice in every household.
Sometimes the installation of the high-efficiency boiler is not possible, because the exhaust pipe or the chimney is not suitable.
In that case an mid-efficiency boiler is preferable. For practically every house there is a heater boiler, which meets your desires.
